In “The Metamorphosis,” Gregor’s transformation is an unique occurrences that disrupts the otherwise mundane environment the Samsa family lives in. As Gregor starts interacting with his relatives, he is dehumanized and all the contributions made to the family are suddenly insignificant and worthless. Truth to be told, loyalty is a quality that could easily be broken due to any irregularity affecting the Samsa family. In this case, the fantastical setting propels Grete to betray Gregor, bringing him to his demise.
